BSEC Transport related meetings, Istanbul, 25-27 November 2013

During 25-27 November 2013 in Istanbul, the BSEC Organization held its transport related meetings:

-2nd Meeting of BSEC Task Force on Implementation of the International Vehicle Weight Certificate

 -9th Meeting of BSEC Steering Committee for Facilitation of Road transport of Goods

-Meeting of the BSEC Working Group on Transport

-           The meetings brought important developments which met BSEC-URTA expectations:

  •   The Pilot Project for Implementation of IVWC was joined by Russia, at this stage 8 countries showed their willingness to cooperate under this project: Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine. The forthcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of BSEC Member States in Yerevan on 12 December 2013 will approve this project as a BSEC Project.
  • The BSEC Permit Project was joined by Ukraine, at this stage 8 countries cooperate under this project: Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania,  Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine. 3 countries: Romania, Moldova and Ukraine agreed to use on a reciprocal basis in 2014 the BSEC Permit not only for direct and transit but for 3rd country transport operations, too. As number of Permits for 2014, Moldova, Romania and Serbia agreed on 400 units. It was also agreed that the other participants to the project will inform the BSEC Organization till 15 December on their position as regards 3rd country transport operations in 2014 and number of 400 Permits for 2014.
