The 1st International Vehicle Weight Certificate (IVWC) was issued in Chisinau on 30 September 2014!

The BSEC Pilot Project on Implementation of the IVWC (Annex 8-Harmonization Convention) in the BSEC region was launched on 30 September 2014 in Chisinau. 7 BSEC Member States are participating in the Pilot Project: Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.

Moldova is the first BSEC Member State which introduced in its national legislation the requirement for weighing the goods transport vehicles and the issuance of the IVWC.

According to the Moldovan Law of Road transport (entered into force on 16 September 2014) the National Agency for Road Transport authorized EURO SERVICE Company to perform in Moldova weighing procedures to goods transport vehicles and issue IVWC.

The UNECE Executive Secretary was informed by the Minister of Transport of Moldova on such an authorization.

Yesterday, 30 September 2014, EUROSERVICE Company made the first official weighing of a truck/semitrailer and issued the first ever IWVC under the Annex 8 to the Harmonization Convention. BSEC-URTA witnessed this important event and recorded it in order to inform the other BSEC Member States on the start of usage of this new facilitation tool for the road transport industry.
