The Meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the BSEC Member States was held in Bucharest on 21st October, 2015

The Meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the BSEC Member States was held in Bucharest, Romania on 21^st October 2015, which was chaired by H.E. Mr. Iualian Matache, Minister of Transport of Romania. During the meeting the declaration was issued on the Prospects of Cooperation in the field of transport in the BSEC Region with a topic of “New opportunities for better transport connectivities”.

Mr. Vladimir Florea, President of the BSEC-URTA in his speech during the meeting underlined the ongoing road transport project of BSEC and its cooperation with IRU and BSEC-URTA. Mr. Vladimir Florea stressed the importance of eliminating non-physical barriers for the facilitation of the international road transport. He also discussed the importance of a pilot project of a BSEC Permit system for the road transport of goods, which was launched in 2010 and became the first regional organization to issue such transport document. BSEC Permit covers bilateral and transit transport operations and anticipates the enlargement of its geographical coverage and extension of its usage to 3^rd country road transport operations and shift of its availability from single to multiple journeys.
