The Meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the BSEC Member States

The Meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the BSEC Member States was held in Sochi, Russian Federatiin on 1^st June 2016, which was chaired by H.E. Mr. Maksim SOKOLOV, Minister of Transport of Russian Federatiin.  During the meeting the Sochi Joint declaration was issued on the Prospects of Cooperation in the field of transport in the BSEC Region with a topic of “Through the synergy of transport and tourism to futher development of the BSEC region”.

Mr. Vladimir Florea, President of the BSEC-URTA in his speech during the meeting underlined the ongoing road transport projects of BSEC and its cooperation with IRU and BSEC-URTA. Mr. Vladimir Florea stressed the importance of eliminating non-physical barriers for the facilitation of the international road transport. He also discussed the importance of a pilot project of a BSEC Permit system for the road transport of goods, which was launched in 2010 and became the first regional organization to issue such transport document.  BSEC Permit covers bilateral and transit transport operations and anticipates the enlargement of its geographical coverage and extension of its usage to 3^rdcountry road transport operations and shift of its availability from single to multiple journeys.
