BSEC-URTA and IRU meeting within the framework of the International Eurasian Forum “TAXI”

In the framework of the International Eurasian Forum "TAXI" held in Moscow on 4-5 August 2016 there was organised a joint informal meeting between BSEC-URTA and IRU on the development of passenger transport in the regions.

Participants:

1. Vladimir Florea - BSEC-URTA President

2. Dmitry Cheltsov -  Head of IRU Delegation to Eurasia

3. Oleg Kamberski – Head of IRU Department on Passenger Transport

5. Elena Anfimova  – Regional manager for passenger transport and professional training, IRU Delegation to Eurasia

 During the meeting there was discussed the cooperation between BSEC-URTA and IRU Delegation to Eurasia in the field of development of passenger transport in the regions of concerned organizations. The discussions were marked problems, cooperation in the solution of which will promote the development of bus transport in the BSEC region and Eurasia.

As outcome of negotiations a joint Action Plan for 2017 was adopted:

1. BSEC - URTA and IRU Delegation to Eurasia have agreed to inform each other of the activities carried out by passenger transport in the region and, if possible, to send representatives to participate in them. BSEC-URTA and IRU Delegation to Eurasia have planned the following activities for 2016-2017:

 1.1.        Exhibition and business programme in the framework of the International salon BUSWORLD-Russia – Moscow, 25-27 October 2016 

1.2.        Forum on Taxi, Cologne, 4-5 November 2016 г.

 1.3.        BSEC Transport Forum, Istanbul, 23 November 2016

 1.4.        The IRU Round Table on Passenger Transport for Belarus, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine (Chisinau, March 2017)  

 1.5.        International Eurasian Forum “TAXI”, Moscow, August 2017

1.6.        IRU & BSEC-URTA Round Table on the problems of passenger transport in the region for Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran and Turkey (Batumi, September 2017)   

 

2.    BSEC-URTA  and IRU Delegation to Eurasia have agreed to collect information on the intersection of passenger buses border crossing points, following in international traffic (border crossing points will be determined in due course), in order to develop recommendations for the facilitation of border crossing for bus transport ( 2016 - 2017)

 

3.    BSEC-URTA and IRU Delegation to Eurasia decided to consider the application of the INTERBUS Convention by non-EU transporters, and to bring this issue to the IRU Passenger Transport Committee, which will take place in Geneva on 3 November 2016.

 

4.    BSEC-URTA and IRU Delegation to Eurasia expressed their intention to exchange information on the work being done in terms of the mutual recognition of certificates of professional competence of drivers and organizers of international bus services in the region and coordinate this work in order to promote the IRU Academy certificates, recognized by reference to the quality in Charter of the International transport forum. 

 

5.     BSEC-URTA and IRU Delegation to Eurasia have agreed to cooperate on the publication on Passenger Transport in the BSEC region.
