Future Belongs to the Development of Infrastructure in the BSEC Region and Effective Realization of Joint Projects

The BSEC-URTA President Ms. Aslı Gözütok and the BSEC-URTA Deputy Secretary General Mr. Adrian Albu took part in the Meeting of Working Group on Transport and the Meeting of Ministers in Charge of Transport of BSEC Member States, held on 16 and 17 November 2017, Kyiv, Ukraine accordingly.

The Working Group welcomed the BSEC PERMIS initiatives to revitalize the Black Sea Ring Highway (BSRH) and the Motorways of the Sea (MoS) projects, to enable their coherent promotion and to prepare the compilation of comprehensive files for both projects, to be used, in a coordinated way, with all potentially interested entities, including, in particular, IFIs.

On the Meeting of Working Group on Transport the National Delegations, IRU, BSEC-URTA and AsMAP of Ukraine exchanged information on the state of affairs with regard to transport facilitation at the national and regional level.

The Working Group expressed also appreciation to the UNECE, IRU, BSEC-URTA, BRASS, BASPA and BINSA for the continuous support of the overall BSEC efforts in achieving goals of the Economic Agenda towards an Enhanced BSEC Partnership, mentioned in the Evaluation Report prepared by Romania. The Meeting of Ministers in Charge of Transport of BSEC Member States resulted in the adoption of the Kyiv Joint Declaration “Development of Infrastructure in the BSEC Region and Effective Realization of Joint Projects. Ministers in Charge of transport decided notably to promote the use of information and communication technologies in international road transport, with particular emphasis on the digitalization of procedures, established under the UN agreements and conventions. Also, the decision to support the establishment of infrastructure, facilities and equipment that promote intermodal transport was rendered.
