BSEC-URTA Management overviewed the Union’s activities online

The pandemic doesn’t stop the BSEC-URTA management, which is making efforts to expand and facilitate international road transport in the BSEC region.


In the context of COVID-19, for the first time in the history of the Union, on September 29, 2020, the 51st meeting of the BSEC-URTA Management Council was held online.


A review of progress in BSEC-URTA priorities during 2020 was carried out. In particular, the atendees reffered to the BSEC Permit, studies of the BSEC-URTA Border Crossing Working Group, eTIR, eCMR pilot projects, eVisa for drivers.


The Board noted positive shifts in BSEC-URTA priorities and outlined further steps to work on priorities.


BSEC-URTA top-management gladly noted the strong cooperation with key partners such as IRU, BSEC, and BRITA within 2020, and discussed the next steps for further joint studies.


Management Council decided to include the request of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture on assignment of the BSEC-URTA Оbserver status to the agenda of the forthcoming General Assembly of the Union.


The meeting attendees also made up the decision to hold the next 52nd Meeting of the BSEC-URTA Management Council on 3 December 2020 and 37th Meeting of the BSEC-URTA General Assembly on 4 December 2020. Last mentioned will be marked with the election of the Union’s President. The BSEC-URTA International Secretariat will circulate an appeal to all Member Associations to nominate their candidates for the post of BSEC-URTA President in due time in accordance with the decisions of the 51st meeting of the BSEC-URTA Management Council.
