11.300 BSEC Permits are prepared for hauliyers for 2021

Meeting of the BSEC Member States Participating in BSEC Permit System Project was held online on 21 October 2020.


BSEC-URTA was represented by Secretary General Mr. Adrian Albu and Deputy Secretary General Mr. Alpdogan Kahraman at the meeting.


After consultations among the Member States the decision to increase the quota from 1.000 to 1.500 in 2021 was taken, except Armenia, which decided to continue to apply 800 quota in the following year.


BSEC-URTA Secretary General Mr. Adrian Albu took the floor on the meeting to underline the importance of increasing of the geographical coverage of the Permit Project that showed its significance during the COVID-19. Mr. Albu also explained the efforts spent by BSEC-URTA for converting paper-based permits into digital and shared the substantiality of these efforts for the BSEC region and its welfare.


The BSEC Member States supported this remark on increasing the geographical coverage of the Permit Project and highlighted it in the meeting protocol.


Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey briefed the participants on the outcomes of the first and second technical meetings on the e-Permit Project and presented possible models for the digital infrastructure of the system.


Participants of the meeting from BSEC Member States welcomed the efforts of Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey for the development of the e-Permit System. Strong interest was observed in the meeting by the Member States to join the project.


International Road Transport Union Representative Mr. Erman Ereke in his speech reassured full support of IRU to the project and Working Group’s studies. The BSEC Member States representatives appreciated the support of IRU and BSEC-URTA of the project.


As the results of the meeting, 11.300 permits will be printed and delivered by BSEC-URTA team to BSEC PERMIS until 15 December 2020 for the usage of hauliers of the region.
