BSEC-URTA Management Council Evaluated progress on priorities in 2020 and goals for 2021

Due to pandemic conditions, the 52nd meetinf of BSEC-URTA Management Council was held online on 16 February 2021.

The participants reviewed and analyzed the progress of BSEC-URTA priorities during 2020.

The developments in BSEC Permit system, studies of the BSEC-URTA Border Crossing Working Group, eTIR, eCMR pilot projects, eVisa for drivers were again the main issues of the meeting.

Management Council welcomed the Member States’ decision to increase the number of BSEC Permits and the positive interest shown by the other countries to be a member of BSEC Permit system.

BSEC-URTA International Secretariat shared information on efforts of the states, especially Moldova, Ukraine, and Turkey to carry paper-based permits into the digital environment, which can be a milestone in the logistics industry.

Managament Council decided to combine eTIR and eCMR in a project that might start between Turkey and Ukraine, the countries which took important steps for realizing the first transport trip with a digital permit.

Participants of the meeting decided to include the request of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture on the assignment of the BSEC-URTA Оbserver status to the agenda of the forthcoming General Assembly of the Union and welcomed the interest showed by Iran to BSEC Permit which will bring the possibility of enlarging the geographical scope of BSEC Permit system.
