BSEC-URTA requests facilities for drivers in secure and safe truck parking areas at land and maritime border crossings and along the Black Sea Ring Highway route

On 18 May 2021, the BSEC Organization held online the Twelfth Meeting of the Steering Committee on the Coordinated Development of the Black Sea Ring Highway.

A BSEC-URTA delegation participated the meeting, mentioned about the Truck Caravan around the Black Sea with the aim to assess the physical conditions of infrastructure on route and at border crossings organized on the occasion of signing ceremony of the BSEC Memorandum of Understating on Coordinated Development of the Black Sea Ring Highway in Belgrade on 19 April 2007 and stressed on the disappointment the road transport sector has in regard the continuous discussions on finalization of the route of the Highway which are still continuing after 14 years from the above mentioned event.


BSEC-URTA delegation also made a presentation in the meeting on the support needed from BSEC governments for facilitating border crossings in the region showing the good examples in building proper infrastructure and administration procedures such as the GTI Parking area at the Turkish Kapikule border crossing point has and calling BSEC Member States to consider implementation of similar safe and secure parking areas at land and maritime border crossings and along the Black Sea Ring Highway route.
