The First International Customs and Trade Congress is Going On

The First International Customs and Trade Congress was organized in public-private partnership by the Turkish National Customs Administration and several national associations and academic world. It is held online during 20 – 22 May 2021 being honored by speakers as Mr. Riza Tuna Turagay, Deputy Minister of Trade of the Turkish Republic, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization and Mr. Umberto De Pretto, Secretary General of International Road Transport Union.


A delegation of BSEC-URTA also participated the meeting and strongly supported the call of participants for implementation of post Covid19 recovery measures for road transport and trade and their facilitation through digitalization of customs and transport documents.


IRU Secretary General Mr. Umberto De Pretto, in his opening speech repeated IRU’s call to governments to aid road transport and logistic sector by granting financial and fiscal support and requested that international road transport drivers to be listed as priority workers with immediate access to vaccines.
