BSEC Member States willing to facilitate road transport

Representatives of Ministries of Transport of BSEC Member States met in Belgrade-Serbia on 29 March 2012 on the occasion of the 7th Meeting of the BSEC Steering Committee on Facilitation of Road Transport of Goods in the BSEC Region(see list of participants).

 

Important issues related to gradual liberalization of road transport of goods, implementation of international conventions and agreements, simplification of Customs procedures and facilitation of visas for professional drivers were discussed (see the Annotated Agenda). 

 

Participants also endorsed the conclusions of the Meeting of Experts on implementation of the International Vehicle Weight Certificate under Annex 8 to the UNECE Harmonization Convention and of the Meeting of Experts on Taxation held in Belgrade on 28 March 2012(See Annex).

 

The Steering Committee took several decisions on further actions towards speeding up the implementation of the BSEC MoU on Facilitation of Road Transport of Goods in the BSEC region(see report of the meeting).

 

The representative of BSEC-URTA in the meeting made a comprehensive presentation on implementation of operative articles of the MoU within concrete time framework and concrete and specific actions (see the presentation)
